A Doctor's War - A Fight to the End!

In this corner we have Dr. Adrian Westmoreland with a PhD in engineering and in the other corner is Dr. Casey Belvedere with a MD in medicine - who will win with Dr. Trinity Matthews at the end.
Dr. Belvedere wanted Trinity and he was not backing down until he got her. Since she was not willing to come to him, he decided to try and force her by harassing her into a sexual affair aka sexual harassment. Not so fast Doc B! To the rescue is a different kind of doctor that's handsome, charming and up for the fight is Dr. Adrian Westmoreland.
Trinity enlisted the help of Adrian with her difficult situation at work by pretending to be her boyfriend to ward off unwanted advances from her superior Dr. Belvedere. Easy right? Not so much. It gets complicated and the plot thickens. In the mist of the pretending, Adrian hadn't counted on his own attraction to Trinity. It was taking over his thoughts and his agenda to find a way to protect and have her himself. He is now asking himself, "What could be worst than wanting a woman and not being able to have her?" Sounds familiar - Yep! Now both men are fighting to have the same woman, one the right way and the other, the wrong way. Read this book to find out who goes down for the count. Get ready for combat.
By the way, this was a very entertaining and enjoyable read. I love it!!! I can't wait to read the next story about Aidan, it's going to be doubled the delight.

So many Westmoreland men to choose from, however, my absolute favorite is still Thorn, had to throw that in. You have to admit, Brenda Jackson knows how to connect her characters, and although it seems repetitive, it never gets old. The concept of this story had a simplicity to it. It seems so simple, nothing that wowed me, but I still enjoyed the story and the coming together of both Trinity and Adrian.
Adrian was a package to unwrap. He was sexy in every way, caring and about family. He came to Trinity's rescue, from a co worker at work who doesn't understand the word, no. Their plan, pretend to be in a relationship in hopes that this co worker would stand down. But somewhere along this pretend relationship, everything became real, thus Trinity and Adrian's steamy affair. Trinity's character was ok, spicy when she needs to be, but ok. Her interactions with Adrian made her likeable and they both had a good chemistry. I enjoyed most of the scenes, but the ending, I think it could have been more.
This series has come a long way and I'm glad to see it still standing. If you've read the Westmoreland series on the Harlequin Desire line, then you know what to expect. I do have to admit though, that the first set of Westmoreland men, there was an intensity about those brothers that can never be replaced or duplicated, nor do I think that is what the author is trying to do.
Overall, a nice quick read, that is likeable and also at times will bring a smile to your face.

The 12th book of the “Denver Westmoreland Family” series.
Trinity Matthews was working on her medical residency at the Denver Memorial Hospital. She was happy with her work until she started being harassed by Dr. Casey Belvedere, a surgeon on staff at the hospital. Trinity could think of a way to get him to leave her alone—Trinity and her sister Tara had thought that if Trinity could have a make-believe lover, maybe the doctor would back off. Tara thought that her husband’s cousin Adrian Westmoreland was just the one to stop the harassment by the doctor.
Adrian worked for Westmoreland family company in Denver and he had seen Trinity and his cousin Riley’s wedding last year and he was attracted to her. So when Tara asked if he could help discourage Dr. Belvedere, Adrian agreed to help Trinity.
Brenda Jackson brings emotion, attraction, and love to this new story of the Westmoreland family. Will Trinity and Adrian convince Dr. Belvedere that they are a couple? I enjoyed revisiting the Westmoreland family and I can’t wait for Aiden’s story “The Secret Affair” coming out September 2014.
