a chronicle of commodity prices

very disappointing. the book is essentially a chronicle of prices that commodities traded at in the early 1900s. This does not describe the principles behind Gann techniques but is merely descriptive of prices. To learn about Gann techniques such as natural squares, angles and financial astronomy, you will need to look elsewhere. I suspect that this book was written by Gann's son and not Gann himself. As a trader of leveraged commodity futures, I found this book thoroughly disappointing and I will stick with Elliott Wave for now. Further, even considering a stop loss that is one eighth of a range is not practical and risking 10 percent of one's capital on a single trade is very heavy handed in my opinion. Unfortunately, this book is not useful for understanding the real Gann and I will need to look to other Gann works.

Detailed, but Somewhat Dated

A very detailed coverage of Ganns works. It will require some patience to really understand the nature of his trading style.
Very heavily annoted with dates of trading entry and exits, which is helpful, but as commodity trading is concerned, very focused towards price action and technical analysis.
